If you are into the Glam Rock scene and all the bands encompassed in it then the Sonic Slam tour was definitely on your radar this summer! This tour featuring Tom Keifer of Cinderella headlining along with LA Guns and Faster Pussycat opening hit pretty much everywhere in the US!
Personally I have seen all three bands at least once before and to have them all on the same bill was freaking amazing! The comradery between the three bands is just beautiful, particularly because guitarists Tony Higbee, Ace Von Johnson and Sam Bam Koltun! Tony of Tom Keifer’s band and Ace of LA Guns would join Sam on stage for one of Tony’s favorite Faster Pussycat tunes “Don’t Change That Song”! It was definitely something I was looking forward to seeing and wasn’t disappointed!
Of course musically all three bands kill it and leave everything on stage each time they perform! Not to “rat” anyone out but one of my photographer friends asked who was singing with LA Guns? So incase you were unaware of Phil Lewis’s new look per the New LA Guns album, he kinda looks like a pirate! Yes, Phil is currently singing with LA Guns and sounds great! And you need to check out their album, Checkered Past!
Another thing I love about these bands is that most of the members come out after the show to meet fans! Yes, you heard me correctly, not a paid meet n greet they actually just walk around and talk to the fans at the show! One of my favorite things! If you do this it’s one of the easiest ways to get me “hooked”! But we’re not talking about me here!
Definitely a show not to be missed this summer with killer tunes performed by top notch musicians with no ego!
